THOMAS GLC PRINCIPAL PROFILE

 

Christine Andrews, B.Bus, CPA, FTIA

   

Christine has developed an in depth understanding of the needs of small and medium sized enterprises as a result of a diverse career and experience gained over the last 30 years. This included being involved both directly and in a consulting capacity to a large number of small and medium sized businesses, in addition to the knowledge gained as a financial controller for a company in the computer/engineering industry.

Due to prior senior positions with large transnationals including National Westminster Bank, Bell & Howell, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Geac Computers, she is able to provide unique experience and advice regarding the diverse range of issues facing business owners and managers today. Additional knowledge has also been gained teaching tax, accounting, and small business courses at TAFE.

The last 14 years have been in public practice using her knowledge and expertise to assist clients with their tax, accounting, business and related issues as well as superannuation, estate and succession planning.

Mr Glenn McEwen, B.Comm (Acc), CA, FTIA

   

Glenn McEwen is a registered auditor and has over twenty years business experience developed through a range of external audit/compliance and business advisory roles in public practice. Glenn is a Chartered Accountant and was admitted to the profession in 1999.

Glenn joined Kevin J Thomas & Co in 1995 and has significant experience in service industries, in particular finance having been the audit manager for a number of credit unions and non-profit organisations and societies for over 10 years, as well as servicing a broad range of medium to large organisations.

Throughout his career Glenn has been responsible for a range of statutory and specialist audit assignments, together with process improvement reviews, risk management, computer system and fraud reviews. Glenn is also a representative on the National Committee of the Australian Financial Institutions Auditors’ Association.

Mr Lucas Quinlan, Bec, CA

   

Lucas commenced his career in 1992 with Arthur Anderson. After having completed a degree in Economics he was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1998.

After gaining initial experience with Arthur Anderson, Lucas took the opportunity to broaden his experience by working in general practice with Brian Thomas in 1994 and went into partnership with Brian in 1998.

Before commencing his career in public practice, Lucas worked for several years in banking and finance. As well as accounting, tax and business services, Lucas has experience in auditing and software implementations.

THOMAS GLC CONSULTANT PROFILE

 

 

Mr Gordon Ogborne, Bec, LLB, CA, ASIA

   

After completing a combined Economics-Law degree at Sydney University, Gordon commenced his career in 1992 with Arthur Anderson, working in their Insolvency & Corporate Recovery division. In 1996, Gordon gained admission to the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia.

After 5 years with Arthur Anderson, Gordon joined Unisys Australia for two years as part of their Management Development program, before being headhunted to take on the role of Financial Controller of the Australian and New Zealand subsidiary of an American IT company, Stratus Computers.

After three years in the role, and looking for a change, Gordon was admitted as a partner in Thomas Quinlan in June 2002, specialising in Taxation and Business Advisory Services.

Gordon feels that public practice is no longer the area of accounting which best suits him for the future and has decided to leave the practice.

He will be continuing to work with the practice as a consultant and will be liaising with clients.
