After completing a combined Economics-Law degree at Sydney University, Gordon commenced his career in 1992 with Arthur Anderson, working in their Insolvency & Corporate Recovery division. In 1996, Gordon gained admission to the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia.
After 5 years with Arthur Anderson, Gordon joined Unisys Australia for two years as part of their Management Development program, before being headhunted to take on the role of Financial Controller of the Australian and New Zealand subsidiary of an American IT company, Stratus Computers.
After three years in the role, and looking for a change, Gordon was admitted as a partner in Thomas Quinlan in June 2002, specialising in Taxation and Business Advisory Services.
Gordon feels that public practice is no longer the area of accounting which best suits him for the future and has decided to leave the practice.
He will be continuing to work with the practice as a consultant and will be liaising with clients.
